Liam Feeney has joined Sky Bet Championship side Cardiff City. on a loan deal until the 1st of January.
Cardiff City have announced the loan signing of Liam Feeney from Rovers, until the end of the season.
Feeney’s first affiliation with Rovers began in the 2013-14 season, when he joined on loan from London side Millwall.
The winger made 6 appearances when he was on loan at Rovers, before returning to Millwall – only to move to a side local to Rovers, Bolton Wanderers.
Feeney made a permanent move to Ewood in June 2016, under manager Owen Coyle, on a two-year deal, with the option of a third year. He went on to make 39 appearances for Rovers in all competitions last season, scoring once – which was away to Championship side Queens Park Rangers in the FA Cup.
The winger has been out of favour so far this season at Rovers, and has only played 29 minutes in the league. However, he did play all 90 minutes in the Checkatrade Trophy, but was poor and lacklustre.
Feeney will be hoping to show Mowbray why he shouldn’t have been loaned out, whilst trying to impress Neil Warnock – to possibly gain a permanent move next summer.
