To continue our countdown to the new season, which starts in 9 days, RoversChat will be looking at the teams that Rovers will be facing in the 2017/18 season. The second of the two teams we will look at today is MK Dons…

Founded in 2004, MK Dons rose from the ashes of Wimbledon FC, this after Wimbledon’s relocation to Milton Keynes. Following relegation in the 2015/2016 season, Mk Dons failed to challenge for an immediate return back to the championship finishing in 12th position.

The dons have a few Rovers links, with former Rovers manager Paul Ince, leaving Stadium MK to become Blackburn manager in 2008. Former Dons manager Karl Robinson also has links to Ewood Park after working there as a coach for a period of time.

After a tough first season back in League One, the Dons will be hoping to push towards the playoffs the coming season. With the loss of George Baldock to Championship new boys Sheffield United, they will be hoping to bring in defensive reinforcements to help stake their claim on the play off places.

MK Dons are one of a few teams who could challenge for the play offs this season, and their fans will be hoping to taste League One glory again.
