Doncaster Rovers were founded in 1879 and turned professional 6 years later. They have spent most of their history floating between the third and fourth tiers of English Football.

The Rovers did make it up to the Championship for the 2013-14 season, but they went straight back down to League One. The Doncaster faithful then saw their team fall down again in the 2015-16 season.

Last season, Doncaster has a very strong campaign in League Two. ‘Donny’ should have won the title but after getting promoted in April, Doncaster lost their last 4 games to finish third after Portsmouth won the title on the last day – the first time ‘Pompey’ was on the top of the table!

Doncaster have kept hold of their two main strikers – John Marquis and Andy Williams – and the Doncaster faithful will be hoping the duo’s goals will fire them to at least safety.
