After Rovers beat Blackpool 4-2 at Bloomfield Road, we look at how the Rovers’ players performed.
A goal each for Marcus Antonsson, Bradley Dack, Charlie Mulgrew and Paul Downing gave Rovers their third win in a row.
It wasn’t the best performance from Rovers, but at the end of the day the victory is what matters, and that’s what Rovers got.
So, how did each player play?
RAYA, David – 6.5/10 – Good performance from the Spaniard. His flat kick through to Antonsson was brilliant and deserved a goal.
NYAMBE, Ryan – 6.5/10 – A mixed performance from the young right-back. He showed great strength to outmuscle the winger but then lightweight.
DOWNING, Paul – 7/10 – Delighted for Downing to get his first goal – albeit a tap in. A strong performance at the back but left exposed at times.
MULGREW, Charlie – 8/10 – Magic Mulgrew. A free-kick reminiscent of his free-kick at home to Newcastle and a great defensive performance.
WILLIAMS, Derrick – 7/10 – Mr. Consistent was, well, Mr. Consistent. He had his good moments with clearing off the line but looked lightweight at times.
SMALLWOOD, Richie – 7/10 – The tough-tackling midfielder won the ball back several times. Even though he lost the ball at times, he won it back most of the time.
WHITTINGHAM, Peter – 6.5/10 – Held the ball up well at times. He slows play down at times, sometimes it helps but other times it’s frustrating.
BENNETT, Elliott – 7/10 – A good return to the starting XI. Ran all night and was unlucky not to have scored really.
DACK, Bradley – 8/10 – What a player. Ran the show and got his goal which he deserved. He gets forward with such pace and strength. He’s a different class.
ANTONSSON, Marcus – 7.5/10 – Like Dack, Antonsson got a goal he deserved. You can say all you want about the ball to him, but he still had to finish it. Could’ve had another from Raya’s kick.
GRAHAM, Danny – 6/10 – Struggled up front on his own. He struggles when he’s got no one to give the ball to and then move. Looks better from the bench.
NUTTALL, Joe (74 mins, for Danny Graham) – 6/10 – The Nutt did well when he came on. Only really had a half-chance.
HARPER, Rekeem (80 mins, for Peter Whittingham) – 6/10 – Nothing to really say. Got forward well when he got the ball.
