We speak to Barnet fan Joe Ferris ahead of tomorrow’s FA Cup first-round tie at Ewood Park.
How has the League Two season gone so far for Barnet?
“It’s been a disappointing season for us. We started really brightly and at the beginning of September, we were in the play-offs. We have a young manager in his first job and he has been faced with a huge injury crisis. I’m confident he can turn it around.”
What was the general feeling around the club when you drew Blackburn Rovers away?
“The general feeling was frustration. We haven’t had a run in the FA cup for years and when Blackburn came out of the hat most felt we’d be waiting another year for a cup run.”
What are your hopes for the FA Cup competition?
“I’d love to reach the 3rd round and draw a top Premier League side away from home.”
What is the best moment you’ve had in the FA Cup?
“The best moment for me personally was beating Swindon Town on penalties to get to the 4th round for only the 2nd time in the club’s history. We also famously drew 0-0 at Stamford bridge many moons ago. ”
What should we expect to see from Barnet tomorrow?
“High energy, high pressing side. We will look to move the ball around the back line and draw players out. ”
Who is your player to watch and why?
“Jack Taylor in midfield. Only 19 he is seen by most Barnet fans as the future and in my opinion, the most talented footballer I’ve seen in 11 years of supporting Barnet. ”
Prediction? (Score and scorers)
“I think we will draw 1-1 and win the replay at The Hive. Mauro Vilhete to score for us.”
