Blackburn Rovers have today announced the loan signing of Marcus Antonsson. The Swedish striker joins from Leeds on a season long-loan and he becomes Rovers 9th summer signing.
Antonsson becomes Rovers’ second loan signing in as many weeks, after Harry Chapman became Rovers’ 8th summer signing last Friday.
Mowbray will be hoping the Swedish forward will add firepower to an area of the pitch that Rovers are currently lacking – strikers. Hopefully, the Swede will add more goals to the Rovers team and play a part in getting us back up to the Championship.
The Leeds man started at Halmstads BK, scoring 11 goals in 71 games. He then joined Kalmar FF, scoring 22 in 41 games. Antonsson moved to England in 2016, as he joined the Elland Road side, and scored 3 goals in 21 appearances.
Mowbray will be hoping his most recent signing can make in instant impact tomorrow, and may be put straight into the squad, as Rovers get their home campaign under way against Doncaster Rovers.
